Well this is one food item I do not eat, so in a sense I’m not practicing what I preach. But I do know the health benefits are amazing. Peanuts contain large amounts of protein, vitamin E, calcium, niacin and Iron and because it’s an excellent source of coenzyme Q10 it protects the heart during periods when it lacks oxygen, hence it’s an excellent snack for athletes. One fact I did not know about peanuts is that one quarter cup of unsalted peanuts, contains the same amount of monounsaturated fat as a table spoon of olive oil and as you know monounsaturated fats, lower cholesterol. So if you’re trying to stay in shape or get back into shape…peanuts are healthy snack that will speed up the growth of your hormones.
